Professor Dominic Shellard is currently Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of De Montfort University. He is an authority on Post-War British theatre and acknowledged expert on economic and social impact studies of UK theatre.
As the author of nine books on the subject of post-war British drama and theatre, he is the leader of the British Library Theatre Archive Project and a former chairman of Sheffield Theatres Trust.
He is also a member of the National Committee of the Society for Theatre Research.
In addition, he has a reputation as a public orator, an Institutional Auditor and has been an assessor for the Quality Assurance Agency. Under his leadership, De Montfort University has been awarded with the Mahatma Gandhi International Award, the Asian Voice Political and Public Life Awards and the Guardian University Awards.
