Language Sciences

From 2015-2020 an interdisciplinary research team in the Language Sciences has organized 2 international academic conferences, undertaken 7 NSFC and NSSFC projects (2 sub-projects included),  2 projects at provincial and ministerial levels (1 key project included) and participated in 9 projects respectively funded by provincial administrations, national ministries, NSFC, NSSFC and NSF.

From 2015-2020, the team has published 4 books, 30 articles in SSCI, A&HCI and CSSCI journals, and 33 articles in Chinese Core Journals and other types of periodical.

Director: Prof. Xue Jin

Prof. Xue has worked as a reviewer of international journals such as Language, Cognition and Neuroscience. She has so far published 5 monographs, 2 textbooks and more than 30 articles with 8 in SSCI and SCIE journals and 10 in CSSCI journals.

Her research has twice been funded by NSSFC and three times by social science foundations at provincial and ministerial levels. Prof. Xue has cooperated on numerous academic projects with professors from Yale University, the University of Toronto, Queen’s University and Universidad de La Laguna.

Her research focuses on brain-inspired intelligence technology and cognitive linguistics, covering  foreign language learning theory and practice, psycholinguistics and computational linguistics.
