An Online Teaching Experience Sharing Meeting of the SFS was Held

In 2020, the outbreak of covid-19 changed the pace of work and learning of teachers,butteaching and learning must not stop.In order to help teachers adapt to various online teaching situations and optimize the new Internet Plus Education model, at 15:30 on April 9th, the Youth Teachers’ League Working Committee of the SFS and the Teacher Development Center jointly held a session on “How to improve online teaching quality — the online teaching experience sharing meeting of the SFS”.

The meeting was undertaken by Zhao Jing, secretary of the Youth Teachers’ League Working Committee of the SFS, and four experienced teachers from the Departments of English Language and Literature, Japanese Language and Literature and German Language and Literature were invited to share their online teaching experience.

Based on the current academic analysis of online teaching, Zhang Dandan, the teacher of the College English Department, pointed out that teachers should fully make good use of online public resources,  continuously develop personal e resources, and create a vivid atmosphere in online teaching, so as to impart knowledge to students , and motivate their interests in learning and enhance their enthusiasm for learning.

Zhu Lin from the Department of Japanese Language and Literature, took the visual-audio-oral course as an example. She suggested that teachers should make full use of  rich online teaching resources, and keep up with the times and stress ideological and political education to create an active learning environment and ,  increase students’ participation in online discussion, , to optimize online. learning.

Ma Jing from the Department of German Language and Literature emphasized the importance of actively interacting with students before and during class. Teachers were advised to play audio and video files related to the subject of the course before class, interact with students in various ways during class to keep students engaged in learning through controlling the pace of the class, and make good use of language teaching resources to create a high-quality classroom

Liang Xiaohui from the Department of English Language and Literature took the reading course class for English majors as an example,to  demonstratehow to cultivate  human spirit in online classrooms, how to guide students to use reverse thinking to be creative ,and how to  communicate effectively  with students to ensure quality teaching.

After the speeches of four keynote speakers, nearly 50 teachers immediately shared their thoughts on how to transfer from offline to online teaching, increase students participation in online courses, keep students engaged in learning through controlling the pace of the class, and integrate ideological and political education into the class. Online teaching brought not only challenges but alsobenefits.After the meeting, teachers’ confidence in future online teaching was boosted.
