Getting her PhD in Beijing Foreign Studies University, she is an Associate Professor of linguistics and translation studies at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. She has been a visiting scholar to University of Manchester, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and University of Mainz.

Qiurong’s publications focus on translation-induced language contact and language change, and include more than 20 papers,such as“Influence of translation on the development of modern Chinese: With the lengthening and expansion of attribute modifier in focus (2020), The Influence of Translation on Early Modern Chinese Text Production: A case study of reformulation marker (2015), etc. and one monograph Translation and the Development of Modern Chinese (in publishing).
