Research Fields:

Second language acquisition, English literacy assessment, critical thinking in English as a foreign language learning. Current research projects include humanities and social science research project of Ministry of Education in China (grant name: Validity study on critical thinking evaluation in foreign language writing, grant number: 19YJA740038).

Selected Publications and Research Grants:

Lihong Ma has written widely on teacher-student relationship in second language leaning, cultivation and evaluation of critical thinking in English as a foreign language education. Her representative papers have been published in Educational Psychology (2018), Porta Linguarum (2020), Chinese Journal of Applied Linguistics (2018), Foreign Language World (2018), Foreign Language Research (2019) etc. Her latest papers are forthcoming from Asia Pacific Journal of Teacher Education and Theory and Practice of Foreign Language Teaching respectively. She has just completed National Education Science Planning Project in China (project name: Assessment and improvement of English literacy in basic education), and at present she is chairing Humanities and Social Science Research Project of Ministry of Education in China (project name: Validity study on critical thinking evaluation in foreign language writing).
