Research Fields

Child Language Acquisition; Cognitive Linguistics. Two provincial or ministry level projects hosted by Liang Zhao were concluded in the past five years. Current research projects include a book on the comparison between Chinese and English verb acquisition.

She wrote a book Discovery Procedures in Language Acquisition (2013), and co-translated a book The Infinite Gift: How children learn and unlearn the languages of the world (2016). Her latest book, A Comparative Studies on Chinese and English Verb Acquisition, is forthcoming from University of International Business and Economics Press. Her articles include ‘Comparison of Rules and Competition Model and Words and Rules Model’ (2017), and ‘An Introduction to Simplicity and Power (SP) Theory in Cognitive Science’ (2010), some of which were published in Foreign Language Teaching and Research and Contemporary Linguistics.
